Students keep their own phone
The phone never leaves the student's possession — it is locked inside a pouch the student carries. There is no confiscation, no storage locker and no chain-of-custody dispute if a device is damaged.
Emergency reachability
The standard pouch does not block signal, so a phone inside continues to ring, vibrate and receive messages. Parents can still reach a child's device; the student simply cannot use it until it is unlocked.
Fire drills and evacuations
Because pouches stay with students and no device is locked away in a room, evacuation is unaffected. Schools typically keep magnetic keys at reception and at each exit muster point so any adult can release phones quickly if an incident requires it.
Medical and accessibility exceptions
Students who need a phone for a medical reason — glucose monitoring, hearing aid control, care-plan contact — are normally exempted in policy and issued an unpouched or unlocked device. We recommend recording exemptions in your policy before launch.
No electronics, no data
The pouch contains no battery, chip, radio or tracker. Nothing is recorded, nothing is transmitted and no personal data is processed by the product, so it sits outside GDPR/UAE data-protection scope entirely.
Loss, damage and spares
Pouches are consumables and wear over time. Schools normally order a 5–10% spare buffer at the outset and re-order annually for new intake. Replacement pouches and keys can be ordered at any time.
Tamper evidence
A pouch that has been forced open is visibly damaged, so staff can spot circumvention during spot checks rather than relying on the pouch being unbreakable.

Yes. The standard pouch is a physical lock rather than a signal blocker, so a locked phone still rings, vibrates and receives messages — the student simply cannot use it until it is unlocked. Schools normally also publish the office number as the route for urgent contact.
Deployment and support
With pouching at form time it adds roughly a minute to registration. At a gate, plan one pouching point per 150–200 students arriving in the same window, and staff the first week more heavily than you think you need.
