Ontario backed its 2024-25 rules with CAD 47.5 million and bars phones during instructional time for Grades 7-12, while Quebec's classroom ban took effect on 31 December 2023. British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia introduced their own restrictions in the same period.
